The abbreviation for Annual Introduction Days is AID. These are the days just before the beginning of every academic year in which students who are new to Wageningen can get to know everything Wageningen has to offer. These six days are stuffed with activities like a music festival, comedy festival, sports day, international evening and a street theatre festival. As a MSc student participating in the AID would mean getting to know the centre of Wageningen and all the locations that are important to you like the post office and the town hall. The student associations each organise a party every night. You can choose if and where you want to go!
All AID participants (BSc-students of Wageningen University and Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein and MSc-students of Wageningen University) will be divided into groups. Each group consists of new students, guided by two or three ‘mentors’. A mentor is already studying in Wageningen and therefore can tell you everything about it. AID groups mostly become very close as they go to parties, eat, learn and have a lot of fun together throughout the week.
Every year the AID has a theme. In 2009 it was ‘CelebrAID’, which symbolises how the AID is a week full of fun and celebration!
For international students, several workshops are organised to get to know the Netherlands, and the culture here. This is new this year. The programme will be in English, so for English-speaking MSc-students participating in the AID 2009 is the perfect way to start student life in Wageningen!
